The Layer-List | June Edition
A roundup of our current favorites and wellness picks.
Summer’s in full swing. Mornings feel lighter, plans pile up, and suddenly your calendar and your carry-on are both full. It’s the season of movement.
In the middle of all that, these are a few things we’ve been into lately: products we’re using, people we’re learning from, and practices we’ve been cultivating.
Non-Toxic Living Resource | Girls Who Eat
Girls Who Eat is our go-to for all things non-toxic living. Founded by Jamie Koll, a certified health coach, functional supplement specialist, and educational influencer, her platform makes clean eating and non-tox living feel accessible, doable, and empowering.
The site is packed: 3,000+ vetted product recs (yes, it’s searchable), a glossary with 1,000+ ingredients decoded, curated brand shop pages, and exclusive discount codes.
We also love that Layermor is a GWE-approved perfume, which is rare to come by in the fragrance world. Jamie’s stamp of approval means a lot.
If you’re looking to ease in, the GWE newsletter and the free 5-Day Non-Toxic Challenge is a great place to start. You’ll get quick, meaningful swaps across beauty, food, and home — straight to your inbox.
P.S. Great news — Girls Who Eat is now on Substack. That’s where you’ll find Jamie’s personal picks, ingredient deep dives, and exclusive Q+As with experts. Highly recommend subscribing if you haven’t already. (Subscribe below!)
Gut Support | Coconut Cult
There’s a lot of noise in the probiotic world, but Coconut Cult is one of the few that actually earns the praise. It’s a super-potent, live probiotic with over 50 billion CFUs per spoonful, which means it’s designed to help rebalance the gut. You’re meant to have just one scoop a day, which makes the higher price tag a little easier to justify.
Our favorite flavors are chocolate and strawberry. They’re genuinely delicious, but also low in sugar and made with clean, organic ingredients. If you’ve been paying more attention to gut health lately, this is one small thing that can help support that.
Non-Toxic Skincare | Saint Jo Brighten & Nourish
If you know anything about us, we love an effortless, non-toxic ritual. Saint Jo does exactly that for skincare. We keep reaching for their bestsellers: Brighten and Nourish. Brighten has vitamin C and licorice root for glow without irritation, while Nourish offers barrier support with ceramides and calendula, amongst others. They’re great on their own but even better together.
Movie Recommendation | Materialists
Recently released and already getting a lot of love from critics, Materialists is a smart, layered rom-com with sharp commentary on modern dating, marriage, money, and more. It’s the follow-up from Past Lives director Celine Song, and it cements her as one of the most interesting voices in film right now.
We won’t spoil anything but if you’re into love triangles, social satire, and emotionally resonant characters, this one’s for you.
Clean Laundry | Molly’s Suds
Most conventional laundry detergents are loaded with undisclosed fragrance blends, preservatives, and harsh surfactants — many of which are known skin irritants or endocrine disruptors. So if you’re wearing it all day (or sleeping in it), it makes sense to switch to something safer.
We like Molly’s Suds as a solid non-toxic option. It’s free from undisclosed fragrance, but the Peppermint version still smells fresh and clean. (Heads up: peppermint is a potential allergen, so the unscented is a safer bet for sensitive skin.)
And in case you’re wondering… yes, laundry is on our roadmap. We’ve had people ask about detergents and linen sprays, and it’s a space we’re really excited about. Clothing holds scent better than skin, but it’s nearly impossible to find a laundry product that’s truly clean, transparent, and actually smells like luxury fragrance. If that’s something you’d want too, let us know.
Manageable Cortisol Habits
Cortisol, the stress hormone, follows a natural rhythm, and when that rhythm’s off (spiking too late in the day or crashing too early), it can mess with everything from focus and mood to sleep, blood sugar, and hormone balance.
Here are a few small shifts that help support healthier cortisol patterns, steadier energy, and a calmer nervous system:
No scrolling for the first 15–30 minutes after waking
Water/electrolytes first, coffee second: Starting with hydration before caffeine helps balance blood sugar and support hormone function
Protein + fat within the first hour of waking: Think eggs and avocado, or a protein smoothie with nut butter
Sunlight or red light in the morning: Helps regulate your circadian rhythm and support a steady energy curve
None of these are huge lifestyle overhauls, but over time, they add up.
Until next time.
X,
Team Layermor
