BTS No. 003: Packaging, Continued
Quick follow-up from our last behind-the-scenes.
Since LuxePack, we’ve narrowed down our next bottle and finalized a few big upgrades based on testing and feedback.
The Bottle
Still glass, of course, but the new version is slightly more rotund and weightier in the hand.
The Spray Component
We upgraded to a refined spray mechanism designed specifically for higher-viscosity formulas (better for more concentrated, oil-based perfumes like ours). We tested it, and this version holds up much better. So, no more clogging.
The spray top is still a screw-on, which was important for us to maintain from a sustainability perspective. It allows the bottles to be disassembled and recycled properly.
But as we mentioned in our last Substack, screw-top components do come with a tradeoff: they’re more prone to loosening in transit, which can let air in and compromise scent integrity over time.
So this time, we’re doubling down on both. We’re sticking with screw-tops to preserve recyclability, but we’re now investing in improved machine-torquing to keep every seal tight and consistent. That extra step helps prevent air exposure and protects the formula inside.
The Labels
Now waterproof and more durable, especially for those of you who keep your bottles on bathroom shelves. That said, while body oil can live in the bathroom, we still recommend storing your perfume in a cool, dry place. (Showers = heat, and heat isn’t a friend to fragrance.)
The Boxes
Thicker, with a crisp, elevated finish in linen-textured cardstock. Protective, recyclable, and more display-worthy in retail stores.
And one more thing
We’re introducing a larger 50ML Parfum size, based directly on your feedback.
We’re so excited to debut the new packaging and can’t wait for you to feel (and smell) it for yourselves.
X,
Team Layermor
